Crème Designed Unconventional Chinese Restaurant RedFarm in London

RedFarm London is a new restaurant based in the center of London’s Theatre District. The inventive and nontraditional Chinese restaurant, with two venues in New York City has successfully made the jump across the pond. The interior was designed by Brooklyn-based studio Crème / Jun Aizaki Architecture & Design.

“Jun Aizaki of Crème expanded on his beloved design of the NYC locations bringing a greenmarket sensibility to the modern dim sum restaurant. Our team has taken RedFarm’s locavore farm-to-table concept and brought it to life in the space, creating a non-traditional Chinese restaurant. The restaurant lives in a three story quaint building. The ground and second floors feature painted white brick walls and exposed wooden beams inviting guests into the intimate setting. We outfitted the space with wooden tables and chairs, red and white gingham fabric, and vintage crates to create a classic farmhouse feel. The focal point of the ground floor is a decorative and exotic live wall which reinforces the restaurant’s use of fresh ingredients. Menus, chopsticks, floral and candles hang from rustic piping above the booths and communal tables, showcasing a modern and rustic décor. In addition to the cozy booths, the communal tables with mismatched chairs have been a signature detail in all RedFarm locations. The location’s third floor exudes a speakeasy design asthetique, with antiqued wood walls, black lacquered ceilings, and tufted leather banquets. Almost like it’s brooding older sister, RedFarm upstairs has a sleek, wrap around bar with marble countertop and copper accents,” says Jun Aizaki
